Kakani, a marvelous hilltop situated to the north-east of Kathmandu valley, is the best travelling destination to break free from busy and daily life schedule of crowded city.

Culturally, Kakani is rich with its Tamang caste village. However, other caste also resides in this area.Village tour guided by local guide lets you know about the culture and habitant of the village which includes their seasonal farming, outfits and the religion. Religiously, almost all the Tamang people worship Buddha as they are Buddhist.
Being a tourist hub Kakani holds numbers of hotels, restaurants and camps for the service of the visitors. Basically, all the hotels and restaurants serve local and continental dishes as per the guest request.
Locally grows strawberries, dhido, and millet bread, local chicken soup is some of the preferred dishes in the area.
Kakani Adventure Camp situated at 1920 meters elevation, right on the lap of Kakani height, is one of the unique adventure camp newly introduced to Kakani. The camp holds numbers of luxury tents in a terraced landscape with its vast area full of greenery and natural environment.
This camp aims on educating students and adults about adventure camping and engage them in various adventures such as zip flying, rock climbing, net climbing, hiking, village tour, organic farm visit and many more.
Although, it has been a famous travelling venue near the capital city, it is still under the shadow because of its tough landscape and poor roadways.
However, government is trying to do their best on solving this issue as soon as possible as it is not only tourist hub but also the traditional business route which joins Tibet and Nepal.
